That’s right, the Gold King Mine begins to slowly move out of the winter shadows which is always a great sign of some warmer weather ahead. You should always check the weather forecast before heading up the hill to Jerome, then on to the Gold King Mine Ghost Town. The weather can change sometimes quickly, or we may be in for another wallop or two from storm systems. Typically, the weather at this time is pretty temperate, but always bring a warm jacket and your camera!
As of June 25,2021 We will no longer be allowing backpacks out into the Ghost Town. If you are a professional photographer with camera equipment case, please check with staff on duty in the Gift Shop for special permission .
Thank you for your cooperation!

Walter the Bus arrives on a low boy trailer with a Jerome Police escort up the hill through Jerome. Because of the narrow roadway, the oversized vehicle traffic must be brought up the wrong way on Main St. The Jerome Fire Department is on hand to stop traffic in order for a safe passage up Main St.
